THE LEGEND OF ROCKIN RICK

QUESTION:

Where did the name Rockin Rick come from?

ANSWER:

As a classically trained musician (former choirboy, church organist, choir Director)
I turned my musical talents to playing in a rock & roll band at age 16
(it sure was more fun than playing funerals!) and I havent looked back since.

Today I play (organ, electric piano) in a 7 piece Rock n Roll Rhythm and blues band called The Majestics.
Over the years we have played on the same bill with such Canadian greats as The Guess Who,
Lighthouse, April Wine, Ronnie Hawkins, Motherlode, The Stampeders and more.

These days we work the Pub circuit, play at Cruise Nites and do a lot of corporate gigs.
We even had the band out and played during intermission at Sunset Speedway a few years ago!
As for the name, everybody in the band has a nickname or professional name,
Big Daddy, Sticks, Big Vince, Sax Rudloph etc..and me Rockin Rick

And now you know the Legend of Rockin Rick.
