What's New in 2002 ? " THUNDER IN THE ALLEY "
After three years of being buried under cardboard boxes and lawn furniture and covered in an
inch of dust, I have reclaimed my old THUNDER CAR from my Mom and Dad's garage !
The car is just as it came off the track in September of 1998 when I won 2 features in
a row on the last two nights of the season ( see 1998 photos on the web site )
Over the winter I've replace some of the body work, re-set up the chassis ( new springs,
shocks, brakepads, caster camber, etc. ) and stripped of the numbers and decals.
An old racing friend ( Karla Maxwell / Howard ) formerly of the Sunset Speedway and now of
Barrie Speedway, is going to run the car this year. Her husband Bill ( Howard Race Engines )
is freshening up my TC motor so Karla should be a strong contender in the division this year.
I'll be running the car myself at the " Specials " and I'll be sure to post the dates on my website
the Thunder Car Division at Barrie Speedway features over 30 very competitive cars and the action
is fast and non-stop on the small tight cornered 1/4 mile track
We'll keep you updated with regular reports as the season progresses.
